Dawaan Edwards, 20, has been identified as the passenger who was killed around 12:18 a.m. Friday, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti.
An initial investigation indicates that the vehicle, which was driving westbound on Lordship Boulevard, failed to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway, drove off the road and struck a tree near the intersection, Eannotti said.
The roadway and intersection were closed during the on-scene investigation.
“At this time the incident is still under investigation and there are no further details to release,” Eannotti said.
